Agriculture Compatibility

Prairie Precision Network has developed a cellular modem to be a plug in replacement to the John Deere RTK radio. Our modem fits into the same slot in the back of the Starfire receiver and plugs directly into the same 4-pin connector as the John Deere RTK radio.

Once the PPN modem is installed and the Starfire/Greenstar system has been RTK activated, there are no additional configurations required. All functionality that is available with John Deere RTK is also available while using the PPN RTK service.

The PPN cellular modem can be also used with any GPS/GNSS system that is RTK activated and can accept RTK corrections over an RS-232 communications port.

Any GPS/GNSS equipment with it's own communications module can be configured to accept PPN RTK data provided it is capable of using the NTRIP protocol.
